Macy’s Backstage invited me to come out for their grand opening in the Garden’s Mall and it was really great to see their launch of this concept in person. Just like Nordstrom, Saks, and other major department stores have created their discounted retail experiences under their name (Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th, etc), Macy’s has taken the plunge into this space too.

A unique aspect of Macy’s model is that the majority of their stores are located INSIDE Macy’s as opposed to be stand alone stores. This is unique in that most higher end shopping malls don’t offer this type of retail shopping. The Palm Beach Gardens location is on the 3rd floor of the Macy’s and has everything from clothing to home decor as well a quick grab for snack and small gifts in the check out line, similarly to that of a Marshall’s or TJ Maxx. I always get sucked in to something as I’m standing there waiting to check-out…the random snacks draw me in!

Their motto is: “Off price, on trend, arriving daily,” and they really are just that. Clothing price points are around the $15-$30 range and they even have a small selection of designer bags like Tory Burch and Burberry at steeply discounted prices. I personally loved their selection of straw bags ($24) and the jewelry offerings were very cute and on trend. The store had a lot of merchandise, but it was not overwhelming and overflowing off racks like these kind of stores can often look like. I am unashamedly a bargain shopper so I definitely see myself popping in on occasion to see what they have available.
