I’ve been hesitant to do any gift guides because there are many people that do them so well and I didn’t want to just add more of the same thing, but I really felt like I could offer something useful and of value for this Father’s day by creating a gift guide for the golfer. My husband not only plays the game (and played in college and as a professional) but now works in the industry as a rep for various golf brands that supplies products to country clubs and golf stores so needless to say…he knows a LOT about what the best and most desirable items are.
Stitch Ultimate Garment Bag: A garment bag that folds up into a duffle bag with a spot to keep your shoes off of your clothes. My husband is a rep for Stitch has done so many tournaments with this bag as the gift item to the players and it is always such a hit. You can personalize the inget with the person’s initials and it really is the perfect weekend travel bag. Fits in the overhead compartment of an airplane and when you aren’t using it, it folds up flat and can be stored in a drawer unlike a roller bag that can take up a lot of closet space. It comes in black, navy and a really cool gray color. You can order off their website and use the promocode: TEXAFLORA15 to get 15% off. Here’s a little animated image so you can see just how much stuff you can fit in the bag.
GFORE Glove: This is a newer brand to the golf world that has really taken off. Their glove has been popular and I personally love their logo in the raised rubber patch on the top of it. It comes in various color options but obviously you can’t go wrong with traditional white. You can order on Amazon or directly through GFORE.
Bushnell Pro XE: My husband is a rep for Bushnell so obviously he thinks its the best electronic measuring device on the market, but they also hold the title of the #1 laser rangefinder used on the PGA tour. Chances are if you see a tour player using a rangefinder, its a Bushnell. I’m going to share a more affordable model below but if you husband wants the latest, greatest, newest, best technology and literally has EVERYTHING else pertaining to golf…this is what you want to get him. This laser not only reads distances up to 500 yards away and gives you a jolt to assure you that you are hitting your target, but it reads temperature and barometric pressure. You can order through Amazon.
Stitch 5 Pocket Pant: Before Dwight was a rep for Stitch, he almost exclusively wore the AG graduate pant for his everyday khaki’s. Stitch makes a pant that is almost identical to that popular AG pant, but their’s is geared more towards golf, with the ability to go from the course to dinner that evening. I can also attest that they wash and dry really well and don’t wrinkle (and I’m not the most prompt at taking things out of the dryer quickly at the end of the cycle!) TEXAFLORA15 for 15% off your purchase.
Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls: A tried and true favorite golf ball, you can’t go wrong with these. They still hold the title of #1 ball in golf so I think your dad/husband would be super happy to receive these. If you want to make it a little more special, you can customize them with a little message or photo through this website or just order the normal ones via Amazon.
Stance Socks: Dwight really loves these socks and how well they fit/perform, and that’s saying a lot because he’s pretty picky when it comes to his socks. I learned really quick early on in our marriage that baisc Haynes socks were a no go for him! The Bubba Watson pair are pretty fun for someone who’s a Bubba fan or just likes a good laugh. They also have some Jack Nicklaus inspired options and if you need no-show ankle socks, the red, white and blue american flag ones are a favorite of my husbands that he has. You can order them on Amazon or through the Stance website.
Stitch Golf Towel: No need to really “explain” this one but every golfer needs a towel to clean off his clubs and chances are, his current towel is likely really old/dirty/not cool….so get him a bright and shiny new Stitch towel. Use TEXAFLORA15 for a discount.
Smathers & Branson Needlepoint Belt: Dwight actually doesn’t have one of these belts but has admired them for a long time (and so have I). This is likely going to be what I get him…don’t worry, I don’t think he reads most of my blogposts so I feel pretty good about spoiling the surprise here in case you wanted to know what my favorite item on the guide was ;) They have TONS of options (non-golf related, too) and you can conveniently order on Amazon.
TaylorMade Hi-Toe Wedge: This is the hot club right now according to Dwight. He says that most wedges are not designed with grooves that cover the entire face of the club, but this club does which is nice because it can even create spin on a missed hit, helping to make your chipping more consistent. I know nothing about clubs but I think the bronzey finish on it is pretty!
Stitch Polo: The attention is in the details of these shirts and they are incredibly well made. They don’t wrinkle, the collars stay nice and crisp and they are cut to be a flattering fit. I like the Sid polo and the Solid Tech Pique for a good classic solid in navy or white. TEXAFLORA15 for 15% off your order.
Maui Jim Polarized Sunglasses: Maui Jim’s are a really popular sunglass brand in the golf world and this pair is pretty traditional and comes in three color options. The polarized lens and UV protection coating is great for playing. You can grab them on Amazon.
Personalized Golf Tees: Have fun and write a cute (or funny) message on an item he has to have.
Personalized Divot Tool: Again, just like the tee’s…a practical (and more affordable) gift made personal.
Club Glove Travel Bag: It’s rare that we take a trip without bringing along our third child….my husband’s golf clubs. A good travel bag is crucial for protecting those precious iron rods from the airline baggage crews that don’t really care how much you paid for the contents in the bag. Club Glove is a great brand as well as Taylor Made’s option. And if you are getting a travel bag, you might as well go ahead and get a stiff arm to go with it to further protect the clubs from the abuse the bags take getting on and off the plane.
Smathers and Branson Needlepoint American Flag Hat: Again, they have so many great options but the American flag is a timeless pick. I have the Texas flag hat of their’s and I love it.
Stitch Golf Headcover (leather and knit): a classic design with a modern twist…these head covers will dress up any golf bag. They go perfectly with the SL1…which leads me to…
Stitch SL1 Golf Bag: Stich’s motto is “dress your game” and these golf bags are timeless, understated and a statement piece. It comes in six color options (white, black, navy, red, light blue and green) and just like the UGB, you can add initials on the bag for a personalized touch. Use code TEXAFLORA15 for 15% off.
FootJoy Pro SL Shoe: My husband gets a new pair of golf shoes about once a year and they’re almost always FootJoy’s. This style is a performance leather but has a more athletic look to it.
Bushnell Tour V4 Patriot Pack: Just like I mentioned above with the other Bushnell model, this is the industry standard for laser range finders and the Tour V4 is their entry level laser. Its currently $50 off and with each purchase of this laser, Bushnell donates a percentage of the proceeds to an organization called Folds of Honor which provides scholarships to children of fallen soldiers. I’ve gotten to attend an event where they present the check and its a pretty cool thing to get to be apart of.
TaylorMade TP5X Golf Balls: These are the balls my husband currently likes to play.
Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour On/Off Course Men's Golf Shoe: If your husband/dad is a Nike guy…these are pretty cool and can be worn on and off the course.
Stitch Flat Front Tech Short: I think you get it by now that Dwight loves and wears the products he sells. These shorts come in 4 colors (khaki, birch, navy blazer and sky blue) and just like the pants, these wash and dry well. TEXAFLORA15 for 15% off.
